  • Vacation 4

I know the end of my vacation blogs are late.  Hopefully I can remember the important parts...lol.

Friday morning mom had tests done.  She dropped me off at Starbucks and then left.  I had some coffee and then walked down to Kmart to look around.  She called me and said she was done.  We headed to Panera Bread for lunch.  Very good.  I had 1/2 a turkey sandwich and a salad.

That evening, we went to Ann's house (friend of mom's).  We had a cookout and swam in the pool.  It was WONDERFUL!!  The water was so nice.  Emma scared us alittle.  She was in a floaty and flipped backwards, so she was hanging upside down.  She was fine and recovered.  She got right back in the pool.  Our hearts stopped for a moment.  I was so proud of her though, that she didn't get afraid of going back in the water after that.

Saturday, we went to the Circus.  It was really nice!  The girls really enjoyed themselves.  After the circus, we went to CiCi's Pizza for dinner.  I have never been.  It was really good.  It's neat that they have so many different types of pizza or you can even order what you want on a pizza if you don't see it out on the buffet.  Tried a few that I have never had before (taco pizza and cheddar and ham), YUM!!

Sunday, we went to church.  Went and got coffee, took it home.  Hung out.  Cooked on the grill for Father's Day.  That's what the guys wanted to do.  We had chicken.

Monday, took the girls to the park for alittle bit.  Went to Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch.  It was neat, they have a simulated roller coaster ride there with 4 coasters on it.  Two of the coasters are from Knoeble's Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA where Kevin is from!!  His mom and some of his family still live there.  Mom lives 5 miles from there.  I thought it funny to go to Las Vegas to see a ride from PA!!  Neat.  After Chuck E. Cheese's, I had a few returns to make.  Went home and started packing.  Dad came home and we went out for dinner.  Went to Red Robin.  I really like that place.  I treated myself and had a bacon cheeseburger AND a chocolate shake!!  It didn't mess me up to much on my diet...;)

Came home and finished packing or what I could.  Lydia wouldn't go to sleep, so she was up until 10:30 and we had to be up at 5!!

The flight home was good.  Emma got to sit in the cockpit and Kevin got some pictures of it.  It was really cool.  Emma loved it.  She said she pushed a button and the plane talked to her.  We tried to tell her that it was the tower and she insisted it was the plane!!  She was so excited.

Now, we are back to reality.  The girls and I leave in three weeks to go up to Mass. for a few days to visit friends while Kevin is at church camp.  This is the first year in 11 I believe that he is going to be a camp counselor again.  He did it everry summer before he got his first appointment.  I am really looking forward to seeing friends I haven't seen in two years since mom and dad moved away.

Well, that's the rest of our trip in a nut shell.  It's after midnight and I should try and go back to bed!!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!!  Good night all.

  • Vacation 3

We had a great time last night.  Mom and dad took us to the Venetian yesterday afternoon about 3.  We got signed in and they came and looked at our room.  Really nice!  Three tvs (livingroom, bedroom and bathroom).  There was even a telephone in the water closet, so you could talk while doing your business.  The drapes were all on a remote.  We didn't have a good view at all, it was the top of the roof and the parking garage, but you pay more for the good views.  We were just happy to be there.

They left with the girls and we got ready to go to dinner.  Walked over to Treasure Island for the buffet.  It was pretty good.  I got made-to-order pasta dish with tortellini and shrimp.  Oh my, was it good and there was tons of shrimp in it!!  I had some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert along with a few pieces of chocolate cake with Kevin.  It was so light.  We had alittle time, so we wondered over to the Mirage and looked around.  The show started at 7:30 (it actually started at 7:40).  It went to 9:10.  Terry Fator was SOOOO good.  At one point, he actually got his voices mixed up alittle and started laughing and had a hard time composing himself.  I thnk he was doing the country singer and Michael Jackson.  So funny!!  Michael Jackson singing country music???  LOL.

After the show, we wondered around for awhile.  We were going to take a gondola ride, but the wait was about 45 minutes, so we decided not to.  We walked around the Canal Shops at the Venetian for a bit.  I got a blended coffee.  It was good.  Kevin was going to get a chocolate shake at Johnny Rockets, but it was 6.99!  Ouch.  Everyone on the strip is expensive.  Couldn't believe I actually slept until 7:30 this  morning.  I don't normally do good in a hotel room, especially the first night.  The hotel was gorgeous.  We had double sinks in the bathroom.  Double doors lead into it with mirrors on them.  A glass enclosed shower and separate bathtub.  Just beautiful.  We got up and went to Denny's for breakfast.  Mom and dad and the girls met us in the lobby about 11:00.  Came home and ate lunch.

Mom and dad took sometime for themselves this afternoon, so dad took us down to Town Square and we took the girls to see UP.  It was really good.  Emma says she didn't like it because there were a few parts that were scary.  She's funny.  They did very well in the theater though, which I was surprised how well Lydia was.

Now we're home waiting for dinner.  Taco salad tonight.  Oh, dad and I went in and bought mom one of the bags I sell with a few shells and it came today!!  She was so surprised and happy.  She loves it!!

Mom is having some tests run tomorrow, so I am going with her.  Please just keep her in your prayers if you think about it tomorrow morning.  Probably go over to Starbucks and wait.  Saturday, I think we are going to see the Ringling Bros. and Bartum and Bailey circus.  Should be fun.  Can't believe we leave on Tuesday morning.

  • vacation 2

Monday, mom and I went out shopping and left the girls with Kevin.  They played in the kiddie pool that mom bought.  We went to the coffee shop and had breakfast.  Then we headed to the mall.  We went to Dillard's and Macy.  I did buy some new bras at Lane Bryant.  They were having a buy 2, get 2 sale.  I didn't to buy new ones anyway since the ones I bought back in April were getting too big on me!!!  Yay.  I went down a size.  We had lunch at the food court and then went to Stein Mart.  I tried on loads of clothes, but bought nothing!!  I was so disappointed and frustrated.  None of the shorts or capris worked that I tried on.  We'll go to Kohl's today, so hopefully I can find something.  All my bottoms are getting to big on me.  They look silly.

We came home after that.  Had leftover pasta for dinner and just watched tv.  Mom did some art project with the girls with paint and stickers.  They had a great time.  We gave them a bath and put them to bed.  Watched The Closer.

Today, I think mom and I are going to Kohl's.  She wants to take the girls over to the coffee shop (It's a Grind) so the ladies that work there can see them.  Mom just got up.  I think we are going to give Lydia her presents that she has, and a few clothes I bought here.  Going to sign off for now.  I'll blog later!!  Have a great day everyone.  It feels good to write things down again.  Oh, going to the Venetian tomorrow night, Kevin and I for our anniversary.  Spending the night and going to see Terry Fator (he won America's Got Talent last year).  Can't wait!!

  • Vacation

Hey all,  it's been awhile since I have blogged.  I don't do awhole lot anymore.  We are on vacation this week in Las Vegas visiting mom and dad.  We've had a relaxing time this time.  We've been home more which is good.  We don't spend as much money that way!!!  Haha.  That's good for Kevin anyway...lol.

Anyway , we left PA on Thursday, June 11th.  We got into Vegas at 6:45 their time.  It was a good flight for the most part.  We went out on Southwest this time.  This was our first time ever.  We left our house at 7 a.m. and picked up my sister-in-law Patty and her girlfriend Missy.  They took us down to Baltimore and then drove the van home.  It saved us from having to leave the van at the airport.  On the way to the airport, I sold a purse to Missy!!!  Yay.

Our flight was really nice.  We didn't havce to change planes but our plane made a stop in New Mexico to let people on and off.  The flight crew were really nice and very funny.  It was all male.  Lydia did get alittle sick on the last half of the flight, but I think that was from too many sweets and not enough regular food.  She didn't eat hardly anything for lunch or dinner.  We stopped at Wendy's on the way to the airport and had Subway in the airport before we boarded.  She was fine though.  The girls did so well.  I couldn't believe there were so many young children on the flight, but you couldn't tell.  They were all really good.

Friday, was a leisurely day.  Mom and I went to the coffee shop and took the girls to the park for a bit in the morning.  Kevin went with us.  They had a great time playing in the sprinkler area that they have.  Finally left around 11:30 and came home once it started getting really hot outside.  After lunch mom and I went out for a bit.  We to Kohl's, I can't remember where else right now.  Oh we did stop and get me another coffee, because I spilled my large frozen carmel mocchiato at the park (had only had about 4 sips of it...urgh).

Came home and had pizza for dinner.  Dad had gotten some and brought it home.  Watched tv.  Went to bed early.

Saturday, we went to Nellis AFB and went to the BX and Commissary.  I found a really nice dress out there (navy and white).  I found a pair of jeans that fit really well and didn't buy them....kicking myself.  Went and got Popeye's/Burger King for lunch and then got groceries at the Commissary.  Came home.  Another relaxing evening.  Had pasta for dinner.

Sunday,  we went to the Lutheran church down the street.  It was okay, but I think next Sunday we will be going back to Green Valley United Methodist church.  we liked that one last time we were here.

After church, we came home, got changed and headed to Mt. Charleston.  It was really nice and was 20 degrees different up there.  What a change.  It was beautiful.  We got to the lodge and I called Barb, one of our church members who was out in Vegas visiting her sister.  They were having a picnic up in the mountains.  We sat down at in the lodge and ordered our drinks and Barb walks up.  She invited us to her picnic, so it saved us from spending money on lunch, which would have been very expensive.  A ceaser salad was $10.95, but you had to pay an extra $5.95 for chichen on it!!

We had a great time with Barb's family.  Came home and had hamburgers and ice cream for dinner.  We played Five Crowns.  I love that game.  It's like rummy if you have never played it.  You start out with three cards and the last hand you have 13.  It's gets really interesting towards the end.  Mom won.

I post Monday on another entry.  It was a day for mom and I.

  • I haven't posted much lately on here.  I spend most my time over on Facebook now, but like to keep this account.  The girls are getting big.  Lydia will be two on the 6th of June and Emma will turn 5 on Aug. 14th!!  Emma had her kindergarten screening last week and did great.  She had a great time she said playing I Spy with one of the volunteers.  She is ready to go to kindergarten.

Let's see....I have just recently started selling these purses.  They are called Miche bags.  They are awesome!!  You get either a black or brown purse and then there are over 40 different shells that you can put on it.  They are magnetic.  It's like having a different purse everyday of the month!!  We'll see how it goes.

I am needed, so I need to go....I will write more later!!  Have a great day.
